Can I Donate My Placenta?

If you decide not to preserve your baby’s stem cells for your family’s future use, you can still make a positive impact on the lives of others by donating your afterbirth through Lifebank™. Lifebank’s parent company, Celularity™, harnesses the power of placental blood and tissue to develop cellular therapies for cancer, immune system disorders, and infectious diseases. Celularity™ also offers placenta-derived tissue products that may be used to treat conditions such as diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, and burns.

When accepting birth tissue to develop products for patients, Celularity™ must adhere to AABB (blood) and AATB (tissue) regulations. Sometimes birth tissue cannot be accepted for donation for clinical use due to certain AABB or AATB restrictions. If you are interested in donating your afterbirth, please click here to take our Donation Assessment Tool. You will be taken through a series of questions to assess whether your tissue can be accepted for donation.

Thank you for considering the donation of your afterbirth.
